About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Head of Warehouse with excellent problem-solving skills and who has a passion for process improvement and optimisation to join the Warehouse Team. The Head of Warehouse will be responsible for the strategic management of the Warehouse in compliance with the company’s policies and vision, ensuring that the business and customer requirements are met in a cost effective and efficient manner, whilst leading on operational activities, improvement plans and projects to maintain momentum on business-critical items.
What you will do:
- Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision
- Prepare the annual budget
- Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with transport, BDM’s and purchasing teams across the company
- Manage a team of Warehouse Shift managers in line with business expectations
- Play a key role within the Leadership Team and the strategic direction of the site
- Lead on business improvement plans and optimisation projects
- Responsible for ensuring that KPIs are delivered, including stock, waste, quality, service levels and costs
- Ensure efficient space utilization and setup layout
- Oversee and implement optimal operational policies and procedures
- Ensure that stock control is managed effectively and that the data storage system is reconciled
- Ensure that reports and statistics are regularly produced by the Warehouse team (IN/OUT status report, waste stock report and management etc)
- Ensure that all warehousing HSE and legislation requirements are adhered to
- Ensure that standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security are maintained in the Warehouse
What you will need:
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems
- IOSH certified (nice to have)
- DQC CPC/Transport Manager CPC Qualification (nice to have)
- NEBOSH Qualification (nice to have)
- Proven work experience as a Warehouse Manager in fast-paced environments
- Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
- Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and databases
- Leadership skills and the ability to develop and engage with the management team
- Experience of the latest BRC accreditation and audit process
