We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Operator to join our Maintenance Team here at Wellocks based in Nelson.

About the role

The role of the Maintenance Operator is to assist with daily maintenance tasks as prioritised by the Maintenance Manager/Senior Maintenance Technician. Should have a keen eye for detail, be well organised and have a passion for cleanliness.  Tasks will include such things as organising/arranging yard areas, cleaning external/internal areas/buildings, assisting Technicians as required and use of specialist equipment to undertake deep cleaning around site including food production areas. Ability to work alone and as part of a team as required.  Should be professionally presented, punctual, methodical and have a positive, can do attitude.

The Maintenance Operator will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.

The MO will assist the MM/SMT with all aspects of site maintenance/cleaning as required and may be allocated to specific tasks/projects as required.

Main daily duties of the MO will include such things as:

  • Arranging yard area and keeping order.
  • Cleaning within warehouse, food preparation and external areas.
  • Carrying out deep cleaning in specific areas.
  • Use of compacters/balers for recycling of cardboard/plastic.
  • Ensuring effluent treatment system is kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Organising food waste to be collected for animal feed.
  • Use of specialist equipment for deep cleaning.
  • Deep cleaning external areas as required.
  • Assist Maintenance Technicians as required.
  • Assist with ongoing projects and operations.

Working Hours: Tuesday - Friday 0700 - 1530  Saturday 0600 - 1430 

Must be flexible to working weekends/out of hours/overtime as required.
