Job Summary

In this role you will be responsible for providing finance support to the Commercial Business Manager to develop business plans, set budgets, and prepare regular forecasts through the fiscal year, ensuring alignment with strategy and the operating model of Jacksons.   You will drive better efficiency and effectiveness across all reporting and planning activities including development of tools and better use of key data sources (Customer data, data warehouse, product data). The role is Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Support with planning and forecasting of commercial processes down to standard margin, supplying accurate and timely future facing information on which to base decisions.
  • Key commercial business partner and advisor to the Commercial Business Manager taking lead on financial matters and ensuring delivery of commercial objectives
  • Provide as required, sensitivity analysis / what if scenarios incorporating pack/price architecture, and various promotion strategies to enable increased understanding of how different levers can affect sales and profitability for All Sales Channels.
  • Financial support on new business opportunities and request for pricing.
  • Using understanding of commercial strategy, and plans, propose relevant actions for commercial to optimise short and long-term business performance.
  • Analysis of weekly and monthly performance down to Std Margin versus forecast/budget together with insightful commentary.
  • Maintain overriders and rebates for all customers, providing a robust reconciliation to the balance sheet monthly.
  • Implement continued improvements and influence decisions.
  • Help imbed robust process and procedures across the commercial arena.
  • Ad hoc duties.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Have experience of preparing financial analysis and management reports, balanced with

commercial experience that demonstrates effective business partnering qualities

  • Financial modelling skills, ability to update, operate and develop financial models
  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a confident communication style, preferably having had exposure to dealing with managers (non-finance)
  • Demonstrated experience of working within a manufacturing environment
