Overview

We’re looking for a commercially astute and analytical Commercial Accountant to join Belazu’s finance team. You’ll play a key role in pricing, margin, and promotional analysis, partnering with our commercial team to support decision-making and drive growth. If you’re a qualified accountant who enjoys combining numbers with strategic impact, this is a great opportunity to make a difference in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

About Belazu

This is a lovely opportunity to join a business with an impressive set of accreditations, from B Corp status to silver standard Investors in People and newly recognised in 2025 as a Sunday Times Best Place to Work. We are a diverse team with a shared set of professional goals and social values that drive a hugely satisfying working experience. Belazu has been a pioneer of supplying high quality, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean Ingredients within the UK’s Foodservice for over 30 years. We are an innovative leader in our field, with an energetic and high performing working culture. We have ambitious plans to grow over the next 5 years and take great pride in the values that form the spine of our business.

What the day job looks like:

As a Commercial Accountant  you will:

  • Own pricing, margin, and promotional finance processes, including standard costing and revenue recognition.
  • Partner with the sales team to analyse profitability by customer, channel, and SKU.
  • Provide commercial finance support for NPD, gate approvals, JBPs, and new business pricing.
  • Maintain and reconcile customer rebates and overriders against the balance sheet.
  • Propose commercial actions that optimise short- and long-term performance.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategy in collaboration with the Financial Controller and FP&A.
  • Line-manage a Commercial Finance Administrator and oversee delivery of pricing admin functions.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects that enhance commercial processes and decision-making.

This role will suit you if:

  • You’re a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • You have experience in a fast-paced FMCG or commercial finance environment.
  • You’re confident building and maintaining financial models and tools (Power BI experience a plus).
  • You combine financial expertise with clear communication and a collaborative, business-partnering mindset.
  • You’re proactive, accurate, and driven by commercial impact—not just numbers.

This role may not be for you if:

  • You’re not comfortable working with both finance and commercial stakeholders.
  • You prefer purely technical finance work over business partnering and commercial problem-solving.
  • You’re not confident managing complex pricing structures or contributing to strategy.

What’s in it for you?

  • 33 days annual (including 8 bank holidays) per annum
  • Auto-Enrolment Pension, plus an enhanced pension option
  • Discretionary annual bonus scheme
  • Learning and development opportunities
  • Life assurance from day one
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Employee benefits portal with retail discounts, EAP and GP services and financial support tools
  • Volunteer days
  • Free parking on site
  • Up to 40% discount on Company products
  • Socials and internal awards
  • Subsidised Canteen

Terms

  • 40 hrs/wk
  • Flexible hybrid working (office + work from home)
  • Probationary period: 3 months
  • Annual salary review (our ‘movers and shakers’ are always rewarded)
  • 10% KPI-related bonus based on clear, achievable objectives
