Overview – QA Auditor – Greenford, London

Join our Technical team as a QA Auditor and help us maintain the highest standards in food safety and quality. In this hands-on role, you’ll carry out audits, product tests, and process checks to ensure everything we make is safe, legal, and delicious. Perfect for someone detail-driven, confident on the factory floor, and passionate about doing things right.

About Belazu

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business with an impressive set of accreditations, from B Corp status to silver standard Investors in People, and newly recognised in 2025 as a Sunday Times Best Place to Work. We are a diverse team driven by a shared passion for quality and innovation. With over 30 years of leadership in supplying premium Middle Eastern and Mediterranean ingredients, Belazu continues to grow and expand its impact in the UK’s food industry.

What the day job looks like:

As a QA Auditor, you will:

  • Conduct internal audits across GMP, hygiene, fabrication, glass & plastic control, and HACCP standards.

  • Perform product testing (e.g., pH, salt content, water activity) and release WIP and finished goods.

  • Investigate out-of-spec results, non-conformances, and complaints, taking corrective actions.

  • Coordinate and trend results from internal and external lab testing, including micro and environmental swabs.

  • Check raw material and label compliance, manage supplier non-conformances, and log concessions.

  • Verify critical control points and assess staff competency in food safety procedures.

  • Support the QA Manager with investigations, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.

  • Play an active role in promoting Belazu’s values, including Food Safety, Environmental Impact, and Health & Safety.

This role will suit you if:

  • You have QA experience in food manufacturing – or you’re a science/food technology graduate ready to grow.

  • You’re methodical, inquisitive, and love a well-documented process.

  • You know your way around food preservation techniques and lab equipment like pH meters and refractometers.

  • You can prioritise tasks, stay calm under pressure, and communicate clearly with different teams.

  • You’re hands-on, enthusiastic, and committed to “right first time” results.

  • You show initiative and bring a positive, solutions-focused approach to daily challenges.

  • You demonstrate our key behaviours – Honesty, Passion, Respect, Accountability, and Customer Success.

This role may not be for you if:

  • You dislike routine checks, hands-on sampling, or working in a factory environment.

  • You prefer desk-only roles and minimal interaction with cross-functional teams.

  • You’re not comfortable investigating issues or giving feedback to ensure standards are upheld.

What’s in it for you?

  • 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays (increasing with service)

  • Auto-Enrolment Pension, plus an enhanced pension option

  • Discretionary annual bonus scheme

  • Learning and development opportunities

  • Life assurance from day one

  • Cycle to work scheme

  • Employee benefits portal with retail discounts, EAP and GP services and financial support tools

  • Volunteer days

  • Free parking on site

  • Up to 40% discount on Company products

  • Socials and internal awards

  • Subsidised Canteen

Terms

  • 40 hrs/week (e.g. 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Mon–Fri; flexibility on start/finish times)

  • 3-month probationary period

  • 10% KPI-related bonus linked to clear and achievable goals
