A fantastic opportunity for a driven and motivated individual to join our brilliant business at a very exciting time.

As we grow, we want to ensure that we continue to develop a reputation for being at the forefront of the industry and this role is crucial in the development and success of our new site.

Reporting to the Zone Manager and working closely with the wider site functions, our Production team will ensure that production targets are met on time and in accordance with agreed company standards and policies by the efficient running and setting up of all equipment and machinery within their control.

What’s involved?

You will be responsible for the correct care and running of all machinery and equipment. Optimizing overall machine effectiveness by reducing downtime whilst maintaining product quality. Ensuring product safety, with regard to HACCP systems and controls.

You will be responsible for ensuring products to be produced are to the agreed specification whilst ensuring throughputs and waste are kept within agreed targets. Also you will report any maintenance issues or breakdowns immediately to the Team Leader.

About You

You will be an excellent communicator and be able to communicate with a variety of different people and maintain good relations with colleagues across business functions. You will have a proactive approach to problem solving and be organised and thorough in every task you undertake.

During the training period you will be working day based shifts. Thereafter, you will be part of a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year round.

Why Jacksons?

Jacksons is part of William Jackson Food Group, a sixth generation family business founded by William Jackson when he opened his first shop in Hull in September 1851. Today we have a portfolio of five food businesses in distinct, yet complimentary market areas, employing over 2,000 people. We also have a pub!

We have occupied the current site in Hull since 1907 and we now have 3 bread plants in our main bakery. We recently developed a second bakery, also at our site in Hull, which specialises in premium quality roll, wrap and ciabatta production.

We specialise in the supply of bread and other carriers to the sandwich manufacturers, foodservice and export channels, and in 2012 we launched our consumer facing brand “Jackson’s Yorkshire’s Champion”.

Our brand-new site in Northamptonshire is one of the largest investments our Group has ever made, and this will allow us to realise our ambition of being the best at what we do.

2018 is an exciting time to join us!

Please note we reserve the right to close this recruitment campaign before the advertised closing date. As such, we advise you to submit your application at the earliest opportunity to avoid disappointment.
