Payroll Administrator, Hull, small in-house payroll team running weekly, lunar and monthly payroll for our different businesses around the country.  Working to deadlines, you must be able to prioritise your work, have a high  level of accuracy, be up to date with current legislation and have an understanding of GDPR and sensitive information.

The Role

In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of the payroll from entering data onto the in-house HR/Payroll system, setting up new starters, making employees leavers and calculating termination payments, updating records when internal moves happen, check/calculate statutory payments such as SMP/SAP/SPP/ShPP and SPB alongside occupational schemes.

You will also be trained to run all post gross to net payroll routines to cover unplanned absences by the Managers/Assistant Manager.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 7.50 hours per day, 37.50 hrs per week with flexible start/finish times between 8.00  and 5.30pm per day, and due to the nature of payroll you will be required to work bank holidays, and occasional weekends.

About you

For this role you will need to have great attention to detail, work efficiently and effectively to deadlines within a sometimes-pressurised environment, due to timeframes around running the payroll.  You will need to be comfortable communicating to colleagues at all levels regarding payroll related queries.  Ideally you will have experience of a computerised payroll system such as MHR ITrent, Microsoft Office and report writing using Business Objects.  We are a small team who work closely together so there will be lots of support for you during your full training and beyond, we can also offer the opportunity to complete an external payroll certificated course.

We are all working from home currently, but when we can, the role will be office based in Hull, where there is free on-site parking.
