Interim People Manager, Hull

A real opportunity to make an impact and implement change within a brilliant business.

You may be an experienced HRBP or HR Manager who can work both operationally and strategically to shape and drive the organisational and people plan; ensuring we have the right structure, capabilities and talent for the future.

Working collaboratively with our leadership team, you will help ensure all areas of the business have the right conditions in place to achieve their performance and people goals. Sitting alongside all of this will be our core people processes that you will maintain with consistent efficiency, while always looking for opportunities for Jacksons to be an even greater place to work.

This is a fixed-term role covering maternity leave for a period of nine to twelve months.

What else is involved?

  • Being a consummate role model, you will develop and lead a high performing team that drives HR excellence.
  • Lead union negotiations on pay and other collective bargaining agreements.
  • Collaborate with business leaders on the design and implementation of large and small scale change management projects from structures and job roles to talent management processes.
  • Drive the organisational strategy, embedding culture and the company values in all aspects of the role.
  • Develop planning strategies, which consider immediate and long-term HR requirements.

About You

Having worked at a similar level previously with accountability for the full HR remit, you will have experience in business partnering, complex employee relations, union negotiations and reward.

You will be able to influence and build effective working relationships across all levels and developing a high performing People team will be one of your main motivations.

With the ability to handle multiple projects and coordinate cross functionally, you will have excellent communication and organisation skills and thrive in a fast paced environment.

You will have experience from the food manufacturing, or similar FMCG, industry and have achieved your CIPD Level 7 qualification.

If you are ready to take your career to the next level within a challenging and rewarding environment, then this is the opportunity for you.

Why Jacksons?

Jacksons is part of William Jackson Food Group, a sixth generation family business founded by William Jackson when he opened his first shop in Hull in September 1851. Today we have a portfolio of five food businesses in distinct, yet complimentary market areas, employing over 2,000 people. We also have a pub!

We have occupied the current site in Hull since 1907 and we now have 3 bread plants in our main bakery. We recently developed a second bakery, also at our site in Hull, which specialises in premium quality roll, wrap and ciabatta production.

We specialise in the supply of bread and other carriers to the sandwich manufacturers, foodservice and export channels, and in 2012 we launched our consumer facing brand “Jackson’s Yorkshire’s Champion”.

We’ve recently built a brand-new site in Corby, Northamptonshire – one of the largest investments our Group has ever made – and this will allow us to realise our ambition of being the best at what we do.

2019 is an exciting time to join us!

Please note that we reserve the right to close this recruitment campaign before the advertised closing date. As such, we advise you to submit your application at the earliest opportunity to avoid disappointment.
